Overview

The European Workshop on Atmospheric Dust will bring together researchers, scientists, and stakeholders working on all aspects of mineral dust, from its physical and chemical properties to its impacts on climate, health, and renewable energy.

Organised by the Dust Doctoral Network (Dust-DN), the workshop aims to provide a forum for exchanging knowledge, discussing recent scientific advances, and identifying new collaboration opportunities within the European dust research community.

The event will include presentations from the Dust-DN doctoral candidates and invited experts, sessions on key scientific themes, and opportunities for networking and future cooperation. Detailed information on the programme, abstract submission, and registration will be announced on this page.

Contributions are invited across dust science, with emphasis on:

  • Fundamentals of dust microphysical properties and processes
  • Dust source regions and their influence on atmospheric dust properties
  • Socio-economic impacts of dust
  • Dust in the global climate system

Researchers are invited to submit abstracts by 1 December 2025 (max 300 words, include title, authors, affiliations).

The First European Workshop on Atmospheric Dust is coordinated by the Dust Doctoral Network (Dust-DN) and supported by an international scientific committee representing leading research institutions in the field of dust and atmospheric science.
